Currently feeding it but haven't seen much affect - although horse is chilled, just no condition.

My local feed merchant recommended it for a underweight poor doer on adlib haylage.

She's been fed it for the last month - should I feed it a bit longer or change?

If i change her feed, what to?

Mares in light work.

I have taz and rio on calm and condition and fast fibre, top spec balencer and top chop lite...taz has dropped off on it but rio had piled on the pounds... I think it all depends on the horse.. Give it a bit longer but it may be worth a change of feed. The only reason im not changing taz to a different feed is because its the first time hes not a complete fruit loop hes very chilled out actually which is good!

How much are you feeding? You have to feed a lot of it per day. Personally I don't really rate it. I havn't seen any vast improvement in horses I have known that have been fed it. However I do know people that swear by it. It usually takes 4-6 weeks to see an improvment so maybe give it another couple of weeks and if no improvment change.

I really love Equi-Jewel. It isn't a complete feed though so maybe fed it with the CC?

I've just put my tb mare on this, this weekend as I bought her quite underweight so popped her on barley rings, topline cond nuts, sugarbeet and alpha a oil, this is all now ready to run out so slowly changing her onto calm and condition, have had it recommended to me by various people so will see how she goes on it, she is looking loads better from her previous feed I had her on, so will wait and see how this one works I have noticed she is becoming very 'full of life' again but putting that down to above feed and feeling good with more on her.

I don't rate it either, If I was using A&P for weight gain and condition I'd actually use veteran vitality regardless of horses age. But normally if I'm looking for condition and weight gain I use Alfa oil, baileys outshine and sugar beet, since using haemavite b+ this year on a poorly horse I would also add this if I had a horse I needed to pop weight and condition on in the future. It's a blood tonic and has lots of b vitamins in which the gut needs to work effectively. 3 smaller meals too. Personally not a fan of c&c but I do know that they have changed the ingredients somewhat since I last used it.

It used to be fed to one of our lot. He was a poor doer and we fed it with mids and it was really affective. The owner changed it a while later an fed it just with chaff and he didn't look as plump, although he was very difficult o keep weight on.

It made Sonny SUPER shiney. But I dont think its bulked him out at all.
The Vet said to me adding Corn Oil to the feed is good for building them up.
I have jsut taken mine off Calm and Condition after 6 months, as have found it likely to be the reason for his behavious due to it having 5% sugar and 13% Starch! :o

We had 3 horses on it last year. Two seriously dropped off and had to convince owners to go back to forage with a tiny scoop of different feed. Piled back on. 3rd looked amazing on it, great condition and coat for a poorer doer.
The first two were ending up with two small buckets a day and no room for forage.
When research into it found that it was very much to the individual horse. Even a&p said that you could have two identical breed/age/workload and different results when asked.
We switched 2 buckets to half a scoop of Alfa-a and sugarbeet. Made the world of difference.

I seriously rate it...Teddy has always looked like a hatrack at this time of year even with as much haylage as he can eat - this year he has topline, well covered ribs and nice round fat bottom....

I'm another who thinks it's usless but baileys topline is fab or iv put all mine on equimins advance complete which has put the weight on big time ( comes with money back if it don't)

I don't rate it, it didn't do anything for my horse it was pretty useless. Plus its 13% starch and 5% sugar! Not good for tummy's or hooves

Rubbish stuff......although it is good for getting weight on natives (but then adlib hay would do the same for most of them!).
Baileys number 4 and a good mug of linseed is what I would opt for.
As already mentioned, you need to feed large amounts of C&C to see a difference.

Not keen on it at all. Far better conditioning feeds include Pure Feeds, Baileys Outshine, Baileys Topline Cubes and Topspec Balancer and CoolCondition cubes... along with Alfa-a oil and sugarbeet

I use it and have been very impressed but I dont have a very skinny horse it keeps mine in perfect condition. I feed with alfa a oil, linseed and speedibeet
