As above please? And how much would I feed a 500kg pony in light work? She's a fussy eater and I'm just wondering whether this would encourage her. I was going to take part in the Trial A&P are offering.

Thanks

Hi ya

I have used this with success. It does tell you how much to feed on website and on bag.

I put a scoop in a bucket and added 2 scoops of water (you double the amount of water)

I then mixed it in with her feed x it's good stuff x

It is about 7 or 8 pounds a 20kg sack. It is a low calorie feed, with 8 MJDE/kg, so you will to feed a significant amount to put weight on, compared with higher calorie feeds. It is a low starch, low sugar feed, however, so useful for laminitics/Cushings animals, EPSM horses etc. It can be used in place of part of, or all of, the hay ration for animals with dental problems, so can have a positive effect on weight in that way.

I do use it on my veteran mare who needs more condition (and who we now suspect has Cushings). However, I mix it with Speedibeet because firstly it seems to be more palatable for her, and secondly Speedibeet is much higher in calories (12.4 MJDE/kg). If she has Fast Fibre on it's own, then she tends to leave a little in the bottom of the bowl. So it is possible that a very fussy feeder may not always eat it all up.

Thank you all

I think it will be useful for my tubby Shetland too.

I'm not sure I'll be able to get Mrs Fussy to eat as much as a Stubbs Scoop doubled up in water, but will try.

:)

madhossy it soaks up all/most of the water. If i have made it so sloppy i add a little chaff to soak it up. It looks similar to bran once made up correctly.

farriersmum i think it would be ok for tha if you check the allan&page website it may say on there
