I sadly lost my horse Profluent to colic 2 years ago and he was my horse in a million.

The one thing I have always wanted to get hold of from his racing days is a photo of the race he won with A P Mccoy 28.12.99. (Seeing AP on SPOY prompted me to make this thread!)

Does anyone have any idea of how i get hold of this with it being so long ago. I dont have a clue who photographed on that date or if they would even still be trading and i think it would be a bit of a long shot to write to AP himself!

Any ideas welcome!

thanks x

PM Llwyncwn - she's my YO. We have a new livery on our yard, another (rescued) ex racehorse who was ridden in his heyday by AP McCoy. Made his owners thousands and thousands but he was still passed from pillar to post when his racing days were over and ended up living in conditions that were only suitable for a couple of hardy shetlands. She's found all the contact details and can give you some info x

We do this the whole time for work. Process is, contact racecourse, they will tell you the official photographer that day and give you his contact details. Then contact said photographer and they will normally email you a set of proofs to choose from. ATR and Racing Post will have videos possibly, but they don't tend to hold any photos, unless someone like Edward Whitaker was there for the Post that day. Good luck :D

I would start by contacting Kempton racecourse, and ask if they have a record of who the photographerS were on that day, should have been a few as it was a big meeting! (I have found Kempton can be a bit hit and miss, depends on who you deal with!!) Also contact Micky Hammond as he was the trainer at the time, and of course AP himself!
Also had a look on racingpost website and they have a photo section, but can only find pics of See More Business for dec1999 but they do say they are currently digitising their historic archive, so may be worth contacting them pictures@racingpost.com
Let us know if you have any luck.

Hiya, have you tried Healyracing.ie?
You can scroll through the racecourses and some of them go back to 1999. There are mainly irish course but some english too!

Assuming he is the Mary Reveley trained horse I would contact John Grossick (he has a website) as he does all the northern tracks and will have stock photos (he would prob have one of him winning at Wetherby), he does Kempton as well for the main meetings and 28th Dec is one of the main meetings-otherwise Ed Whitaker or Dan Abraham

Thank you everyone! I did contact Micky Hammond through his website a few years ago and one of the grooms remembered him which was lovely although no photos unfortunately.

I've got loads to go on so than you all for your input and I'll let you know how i get on!

Mince pies to you all! xxx
