What would you pay for a 15 2hh bay connie x TB 16 year old gelding. He will jump 3 ft 6 opens, round bales,5 bar gates. Will work in nice outline....wins local showing classes.
Brilliant hunter....no vices,good clip,shoe,load.
The bad bits Has sarcoids around his sheath, suffers from mild sweetitch, not good in traffic, anything bigger than a car he is tigger, unless he is out hunting.Very, very spooky when being exercised on his own.I never take him on the road on his own....lucky i have 200 acres of woodlands to ride through as he can be dangerous at times. The people that had him before were going to send him kennels, and they always used to ride him on ACP.

The reason i ask all of this is i really would like something that is a pleasure to hack out on his own....not something that feels like its a chore to ride, which it is!!!

I think realisticly i wouldnt be able to sell him, because of all of problems. My heart would not allow it,but a girl can dream!!!

There is a website called project horses, where people sell and put wanted adverts. The advert encourages honesty so people know what they are letting themselves in for, so if you were serious you could look there? But good on you for sticking with a challenging fella! all the best....

In my heart,im not sure i could sell him,as i dont know where he would end up if he got into the wrong hands.
I really dont think he would suitable for hacking on roads...to unpredictable....never know who or what he could damage....yet i trust him 99 % of the time out hunting on roads.I really thought he would improve with traffic as we are farmers and he sees big things every day.
I have even had to have a finger removed because of him,and im STILL riding him!!!

Maybe i will just keep my eye out for something else and have 2 riding horses!!!

Whilst turning him out he reared up and pulled away and the rope some how got caught around my finger.
I had 2 operations to repair tendons, ligamnets, and joint reconstruction, but none successful. The third operation was to remove it.

I hunt him every week, and he is brilliant at his job.....he will jump anything you put him at....He can be very strong though.

I have been thinking about this ,and in all honesty i dont think i could even sell him on as a hunter.....i dont want him to fall into the wrong hands.
Guess i will keep hold of him, keep hunting him, until i feel that i can no longer ride him, then send him to the kennels.....maybe keep my eye out for a second riding horse??

sounds like to me, youve already made your mind up!

I think that is the best course of action as he is likely to end up being too much for someone else.
