Some of the CR people suggested that I post in here too as the Air Ambulance is frequently used to help people badly injured out hunting. We had to have it out twice last season and it was absolutely invaluable.

Just to recap.....

Starting on the 6th of June (Bramham Sunday) I am walking the 196-mile Coast to Coast route to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Too many of my friends have had to have an unscheduled helicopter ride following eventing/hunting/racing accidents. Two of them wouldn't be here today had they had to travel to hospital via a road ambulance. It seems criminal that this service isn't government funded.

I am walking alone and aiming to complete the walk in 12 days . I now have only 40 days until I set off and am struggling for sponsorship money.

Please, please, please give something to this cause, even if it's 50p. I'll do all the hard work! I've been out this afternoon and route-marched 12 miles over the moors, but I'll need to step it up shortly. I'm planning a 22-miler for Saturday!

OK lecture over

Well done! I'm pleased that I'm not the only one mad enough to attempt anything on shanks' pony for the air ambulance. I am doing the Lyke Wake Walk on 19th of June for the same cause. This is 41 miles in 24 hours maximum.

I'll sponsor you, if you'll sponsor me! ;)

I can only afford to sponsor one of you - but as it is for the same cause, I hope that is OK.

My fathers school friend flies the air ambulance for one region (I forget which!) but says that he often scoops up riders, so we all need to be aware -weather we have a plod or a sharp horse.

If I hadn't just been made redundant, I'd have sponsored both!! It is a VERY worthwhile cause for all riders.

Have donated. :)

Maybe a slightly controversial point, but I've seen many an air ambulance turn up for who turn out to be bruised bones etc. Please all keep in mind what these people are here for and not to waist their time!

A friend is doing a ride starting May 10th,for her local AA,I have to sponsor her, but all the best to the both of you.Hope your training continues to go well,

The very best of luck to you. I will sponsor you tomorrow when I get paid. I went on a fun ride the other day in Warks area for the air ambulance. Very good cause as the year before it had been used on this particular ride for a rider who had come off a few horses in front of me. I was one of a group of riders that rode past and saw the accident so you can imagine my shock when the last week I tuned into The Real A&E on tv which shows the work of the Air Ambulance and saw the very rescue of the said accident victim who fell off her horse jumping a log and was airlifted to hospital. I saw me ride past in the background! It was nice to see what had happened to her, albeit a year later. Luckily she made an excellent recovery and I was able to tell the people watching the line of fences on the ride what had happened to her as they had no idea as they had had no feedback at all.

Have sponsored both of you - Yorkshire Air Ambulance saved my daughters life 4 years ago. Can't ever thank them enough and well done for raising both money for them and awareness :)
