Thought I would ask on here as have been trawling websites in vain!

Current YO is looking for a horse/pony on loan, preferably long term, for her 13yr old daughter..... Horse/pony must be minimum 14.2hh but not worried about bigger candidate! Must be the been there, seen it, done it type of horse, and 100% safe to hack out alone as well as in company.... Horse/pony would be used for hacking and all pony club/riding club activities.... and would be garunteed a five star home.

Current horse on loan is taking the pleasure out of riding and is napping/bucking and rearing and totally refuses point blank to hack alone.....

PM me if you know of anything suitable!

Thanks!

That sounds like a long shot, I would have thought a pony like that would be hard to find and probably quite expensive or handed around through relatives/friends etc if loaned. Other problem with that size is that adults get to keep them too!

Would she be bothered about it being quite old and not abl to do too much? I know the riding for the disabled where I have done some work are semi-retiring a horse who would have a few years left in him, approx 14.2 to 15.1 if I remember rightly, grey highland type. Lovely horse, used to show in his younger days.

PM me if you like.

NO WAY! You're in my county! That's a surprise. This RDA is the one at Fox Hill in Holcot. He's probably there unless he's gone to a home already. Called Bruno.

Tell me more!! How odd that he happens to be down the road!!! Is he still capable of doing jumping... not worried about being older, just needs some life in it and needs to be safe!

I really don't know how much jump he would do, but can you call or look up the RDA for that yard, or call the yard and ask them for the numbers and perhaps about the horse? I am sorry I am out of touch with them now. I do know he is safe and totally disillusioned with the horrible riding, and would probably rejuvenate with a nice break and one proper rider, but in a good way, not go mad, he doesn't have that in him.

I know of him as well!!! I used to help out occasionally a few years back when they had a lack of instructors.... so I am also out of touch with them as well.... from what I remember he was a nice reliable sort.... will pass on details to YO at lunchtime and see what's what!

I do know probably the perfect animal BUT he's only for sale and he's not a cheap buy. North Cambs if interested at all. Total saint to hack out, always the one chosen for demos etc - on Sunday he'll be doing a couple of hours at Pony Club of standing with a child on each leg bandaging and re-bandaging and yet still goes out and is placed nearly every time SJ and XC, has done Area Trials and hunted. PM me if he's likely to be any use.

Also think I should add, daughter is very confident and even tho this pony currently on loan goes faster backwards than it does forwards.... she is not phased by this at all..... so a forward going ride wont be a problem either.... definately not the type of child to gallop round the fields endlessly either, very sensible and VERY commited to horses in her care - this young lady handles strapping big warmbloods on a daily basis!
Hopefully with everyones help we will be able to find her something suitable.... before current pony completely ruins the fun in riding!

I just replied to an earlier post on here but there's a lovely 14.3 for sale at my yard but not loan as owner has bought another horse so needs the money to finance that one. She's great though and a totally genuine sale PM me if you want details

And what am I advertising? I'm merely asking if anyone knows of something suitable!
