GODS GIFT

The first time I saw you - a sideways glance
I took no notice - thought I hadn't a chance

Your eyes were so tender - as dark as the deepest well
A heavy sigh, a tilting head - I was under your spell

The next time I saw you - I gave you a longer look over this time
Would there, could there be a chance you'd be mine?

Winter creeps in, you wear a long shapeless coat
If you entered an Adonis contest you'd get my vote

With your athletic legs and a body to die for
I counted the moments when I'd be by your side for ...

The days, not the nights - snatching time here and there
The thought of losing you more than I could bear

"Be careful" I was told "he's been a handful in the past"
But I didn't take notice - I wanted our relationship to last

Putting my life in your charge I succumbed to your charm
I cupped your head in my hands in the warmth of the barn

The time had now come for us to become one -
Two hearts, two minds - joined, never to be undone

So I led you outside
My heart so full of anticipation, love and pride

I turned to you gently, took a deep breath - baited
I threw my leg over you slowly, sighed and waited

Would you perform?

You stood there so quitely, a gentleman of course
Jethro, my darling, you wonderful HORSE

(A poem to a horse, who captured my heart and our relationship built on trust through the throes of backing him)

I hope you liked this. Please read my other poem post above. Thankyou x

That's beautiful. I'm ashamed to admit my relationship with Daisy would probably be much more of a comedy poem
