GOODBYE JETH
My beautiful Jethro you tragically died today
So suddenly taken from me forever gone away
No more will I see your handsome face
Your big black eyes looking down at me
Your presence, your grace
A more beautiful horse will never again be found
Thoughts of you go round and round
My head, in turmoil, I cannot understand
Why was God so underhand?
Why was it you, why not another?
If there is a God above why did he make you suffer?
We were on an adventure but it wasn't meant to be
Oh what fun we would have had, just us, you and me
Our time together though short was special
And for that I am glad
Still the memories won't ease my pain
I hurt, I miss you, I'm so sad
I felt as if our minds were one
A bond so strong never to be undone
But fate stepped in to deal the cruellest blow
You've been taken away from me
God, I loved you so
I laid down with you, our last embrace
I kissed your head, my tears stained your face
Your once writhing body free from pain
I'll miss you until we meet again
A piece of my heart lies with you though
Me and you together, forever
I said goodbye, a hug, a kiss
My darling Jethro I'll sorely miss
What an impact you had upon my life
Your death stabbing my heart like the sharpest knife
To leave you lying there
To walk away and not look back
Was almost more pain than I could bear
I was not there when you were laid to rest
Though I prepared you, made you look your best
Why did you leave? Come back, don't go
I'll always love you
