I was out hacking this morning on my lovely little horse, it's a gorgeous day and I was thinking how lovely she is, and my thoughts turned to the National and those beautiful horses getting ready. I said a few little words in my own way that they all come home safely although it's inevitable that some won't - I'm a huge racing fan but it's one race I can't watch. I love the build up, I watch the Morning Line and all the tv coverage until the actual race when I turn over.

I'm not opening yet another debate on the National I just wanted to wish all horses and riders well and say how much the thought of it made me appreciate mine this morning.

Perhaps it's the sun got to me

Well, I do hope they all get home safely - it certainly isn't unheard of and no reason why they shouldn't. The National really needs to have a good year.

I echo these thoughts and agree there is no reason they can't come home safe- jockeys need to be thinking sensibly and pull up when required, which then usually do.
Good luck to all and be safe guys and gals.
