I've had mixed responses with what to worm him so thought i'd do a poll.

Sorry, I'm crap with wormers. I always ask the man in my local tack shop, he tells me what I need!!

I was told if I was unsure about the worming history of a new horse use Panacur 5 day otherwise Pramox was ok.
Reasons are if they have a heavy worm burden then the 5 day gets rid slowly so they dont colic whereas the Pramox does it in one go.
If you use the 5 day then you will also need to worm for Tapeworm 7 days later.
Give Hyperdrug a ring, they are really helpful.

I was told to do my new(ish) horse with no worming history Panacur 5 day, followed by Equimax a week later.
I did this, then did a worm count about 6 weeks later which came back <50epg

I've voted panacur equine guard (5day course) as he is new to you. If you know his worming history then I'd follow his plan but if you don't know then I'd do 5 days. Giving a strong wormer can cause colic in a horse with a large worm burden so if you're not sure I'd go with the 5day Guard.

What does <50epg mean?

less than 50 eggs per gram. It's the lowest result possible... you never get a result of 0.

You need to take into account the time of year, if the horse is going out with others, what they have been wormed on etc.

Equvalan or Equest for adult and immature roundworm, redworm and lungworm for this particular time of year but for new arrivals Panacur Guard 5 day is also recomended.

i said panucar guard to do if you dont now his history and he has a burden you want something kind on his system not something to hit him hard. Do panucar guard then get a blood test done for tape worms!
