A Pony How Much?

We have a kind, gentle 14.2hh 15yo gelding by Triggerero (full papers) and I'm about to advertise him but not at all sure how much to look for. I'm usually not bad at these but in this case am too close to the wood to see the trees as the saying goes.

He is round and rhythmic on the flat, has a very athletic jump (won £640 BSJA, inc Winter JC 1st round, placed Fox 2nd rounds etc) and last year and this spring before we got him he did Pony Trials in Ireland, inc winning and this season 3 placings from 3 starts. He's also done PC teams, won dress champs etc. He is capable of the odd fly buck if he gets excited but other than that is straightforward and ridden in a snaffle.

We really want the right home and a quick sale so how much should we look for?

£3500? Only because of his age mind, sounds damn impressive but the age really lets him down.

Thanks, yes, I know his age is against him but on the plus side he's as sound as a pound with completely clean legs - quite an achievement!

Maybe ask £4750 and take over £3500.

14.2 ponies tend to live forever, 15 is no age! sounds like a cracker for someone off 13.2s id say around 5k, good luck

agreed, possibly 6- 8K if he is safe depending on your area as he sounds lovely!

Thanks everyone. Very pleased at responses - it's good to know people think there'll be a market for him.

Look out for him the week after next in the Under £3,000 pages in H&H. If I price him like that with his fully documented history and affiliated records and all the video clips of him I have then hopefully I'll be able to choose the home he goes to as he's the soppiest, most loving pony I've ever known!
