Just been away for 3 days training with a guy I've had a few lessons with before. He's classically trained, a beautiful rider (competes his lusitano stallion at grand prix) and he is simply the most inspirational trainer I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.
Day 1 we arrived and settled in, he rode Moon for a few minutes to get a feel for her, complimented me on her training so far (
) and then we worked towards improving her connection. OMG I've never had such a huge change in the horse's way of going in such a short space of time! Bless little Moon, she tried so so hard and was just a delight to ride.
Day 2, despite a pretty bad hangover as we got a bit lost in the philosphy behind dressage over quite a few glasses of wine, went even better- Moon just went so nicely I couldnt get over it! I then watched him teach and ride all afternoon which was exceptionally interesting.
Day 3, again nursing a hangover! Today felt like everything came together- she's no longer a stroppy baby, she worked with incredible maturity and again, was a joy to ride.
I'm so proud of Moon (in case you cant tell!) She tries so hard and gives everything, with Boss you felt like he never really tried and didnt respond that well to training so it's lovely to have something that reacts instantly when you ride properly.
I'm hoping we can now get some better scores with her in a more consistant outline and with a bit more quality about her stride.........
