Hi everyone
i need some advice. Back in spring i decided i needed to put my wb mare out on loan as due to work commitments i didn't have the time to ride her everyday like she needed. So beginning of June she went on loan. Baring in mind this mare has issues. Had a kissing spine op 2 years ago and wind sucks. Due to the kissing spine op she needs physio regually. So before she went i made sure she had treatment and was ready to go. She was unfit and fat as i had struggled to work her. So it came to the big day and she wouldnt load. I like to take my time and not rush them as she gets very stressy. Transport guy didnt have the same idea as me and tried to load her, she reared, he pulled down, she reared higher and fell backwards! i wasnt happy. I said she might need physio sooner now. Any way off she went to her loan home, seemed to be doing really well then about 2 months ago she came in with 4 swollen legs, due to too much protein in the grass according to the vet. Over the summer holidays the girl who loans her seems to have been away loads so i don't know how much she has done with her. I have found it difficult to contact her, shes not been corporative when i want to go and see her. She came back off another holiday last week and i spoke to her on fb and she said my horse was lame but the vet had sorted it. I got a text message yesterday saying basically she doesnt want her anymore because she is uneven in her legs and she could make her worse is she carries on riding so much. I had this mare in hard work, schooling everyday, xc, jumping, galloping out and she went lame once for tear arseing around her field. She's not had any tests and said she cant afford to have them done. I feel she hasnt given her long enough and because she hasnt been working her constantly her back might have got tight and she needs treatment. shes only had her for 12 weeks and i could end up with a broken pony. I dont mind having her back but my worry is if there is something wrong and i have her back and need to get test i wont be covered on a new policy? Oh there is no vet report as it was just a convo with the vet and the vet also said her legs are more like an 18 year olds legs not an 11 year old!!! what does that mean? she has clean legs in my eyes! Sorry for the length of this but im so worried!
