Went to get Merlin in last night, he is out with Saf, Mable (welsh d 2yo like him) and Magic tiny little black escape artist pony

They were all over the far end of the field, Mable and Saf saw me first and started to trot towards me, then Merlin realised i was there and started trotting towards me too, then he ended up cantering to make sure he got to me before they did!

I never get that kind of treatment from Blue, he just ignores me and i have to prise his head from the grass

Merlin was very good when he came in too, put a fleece rug on him for the first time just draped over and not done up but think i will be able to do it up today as he didn't seem to mind

I love moments like that

Had one myself yesterday. Went to call the baggage in and she came trotting over which was a first

Normally I call her, she lifts her head and then pretends to carry on grazing whilst watching me walk across the field to get her. Waits til I'm 6 ft away and walks off

I'm really not used to it! Blue just ignores me completely and i literally have to pick his head up from the floor to put headcollar on him!

He's not quite so crafty as to walk away when i get close though!

So having Merlin in such a rush to get to me is really lovely!

Am pleased as i think it means he wants to come in and do a bit of work (well baby type work) and have his bit of feed as reward
