well i said more than once a week
i normally have one a week, which should alternate fortnightly between sjing and dressage; but its just been dressage at the moment
but whenever i have chance i normally have more... im having 2 this week!

I get lessons once a week but it is with a professional instructor and we concentrate alot on dressage. Used to do jumping but my new horse is scared of jumps haha. It depends what you are wanting to get out of your lessons.

depends on your level and what you want to achieve really.

i have 3 trainers and generally have 2, 3 at the most, lessons a month. I am at a point totally within my comfort zone, i know what im aiming for and the path to get there, i just need tweaks, theres no point me seeing both trainers every week so they can just say "keep doing what you're doing", hence i see them less frequently and do my homework in between so i dont have to repeat lessons if you like.
this only works because iv produced a few horses now and have had baby horses all my riding life so my 5yo is well within what im happy working on alone.

some of my clients see my weekly, some fortnightly, its whatever suits them-some need time to consolidate, others want an eye casting over progress sooner.

I havent had a lesson in about 5 years, booked an instructor fo a second lesson and 5 years later still waiting for him to turn up, well he hasn't let me know so........................

I beleive in natural horsemanship, so I ride naturally crrap  I mean how difficult can it be, kick to go and pull like hell at mouth to stop, nothing else to it.........

I have one trainer although do the odd clinic with different. I see him weekly per horse, and if have concerns about an event/problems he comes out twice. cant afford the money or time for 2 a week on a regular basis!

I think it is whatever suits your situation best, and just ask for homework!!

That makes me a Natural Horsemanship follower too. :P May I use that as a quote from now on? :P

OP, I have lesson mainly twice a month, but that's because I cant get the transport and often don't have the money. Have had a lot of free rides recently, but thats because ive been at the yard working :)

I would love a lesson every week but can't afford it. My instructor is good though and I always feel like i am left with lots to work on. One girl has a lesson each week and the instructor rides her horse twice a week and it amazing how fast they are progressing.
