A question about rug alterations

I'm looking to have my fly rug altered, it's a combo rug and I'd like to have the option of having the neck on or somehow clip it back onto the body of the rug.

Has anyone done this??

I would think a good rug repairer would be able to do something , the problem may be that fly material isnt very strong and clips/velcro may put stress on a fairly flimsy material . Ask ... they can only say no !
