If a horse had a tendon injury of some form (say fatigue caused by overheating/ blood supply being restricted) could it trot up sound?

On a different note, please be very aware of overtight bandaging. I always cringe when I see people using elasticated bandages of any form, and now I think people who use them are truly insane. It sounds silly, but it is truly horrendous what can happen.

Please may we also have vibes for my sister's baby ex-racer, who really does deserve to be right as rain.

Yes a horse can trot up sound. IT depends on just how high a pain tollerance the horse has.

One of mine did a fair size hole in his tendon, never once came up lame, never showed any heat or swelling and so he kept galloping and racing. 6 months, 3 wide margin wins, a place in a Grade 2 and a holiday later he showed up a tiny bit of heat. Got it scanned and there was a half healed 45% hole.

Anything can happen.

There is a vet (can't remember his name- I think he is in the North Yorkshire area) who doesn't recommend bandaging tendon injuries at all. Something to do with not providing the correct support.
One of the pointers had a little bit of tendon last year, and its legs only had a tiny bit of heat but was still sound. It had quite a few weeks box rest, and is fine now, however is a show horse now.

depends on the horse really, my mare had a huge hole in her tendon and while she wasn't sound she was only 'off' rather than actually lame.
