I thought I'd give some TBs Meadow Nuts a try....the horse has been on them for about 10 days now and is definitely a lot fresher than usual. I was telling someone about this and she said she had to take a horse off them as they were making it very fresh indeed! Who'd have thought grass nuts could do this....has anyone else had any experience of this?

If you look in the forum here and search on Thunderbrooks it seems that the composition of the feed can be quite variable. They use a lot of European fields and in their marketing they do reference that diversity of things and that nothing is quite the same depending on when they cut, etc .. if you search enough there's some other things that might make you wary about them.

That being said I've fed Thunderbrooks and am feeding some Meadow nuts now actually. I haven't noticed any issues but I don't feed them at volume and use them as training treats so probably not best comparison.

I find it really hard to get a good grass nut at the feed store without any fillers or extras and not full of sugar without ordering specially. I'm not sure why that is. Emerald Green meadow magic is available sometimes in the shop and the nutrition is ok on it but it is always dusty. I usually end up ordering from Simple Systems but the way they ship things in boxes using DPD makes me feel horrible everytime for the poor delivery guys.

Thanks tyner, for some context, the horse is a PRE and does well on a very basic diet -hay and 2 small feeds a day of fibre nuts as a carrier for a joint supplement. He's always done very well on this and I'm not sure why I decided to change things....I suppose I thought I'd spoil him a little..... lol!
I'll certainly do a bit of research on Thunderbooks.

I'm using simple system hay cobs or grass pellets (depending on work) for mine with no issues. Quality has been good and consistent. I'm also able to join their van delivery if I'm flexible so avoiding DPD lugging bags around.

I had issues with TB quality control but they've got quite good at stamping down complaints and won the case that went to trading standards so it's hard to know if it was a blip or underlying issue
