What the hell do you do with your time??!

I am so horrendously bored! I come on here A LOT! (well at least I can read up a bit and learn!) but otherwise I feel like a lost soul wondering what to do!

I have been thinking, should I go have some lessons? Should I get some books and DVDs and do some learning, what?

Help! lol I feel like I've lost a limb!

Kitty

I haven't been horseless in years, when one has been sold the next arrives straightaway. OH thinks I lack patience! When G was on box rest and couldn't be ridden I actually got more riding in as everyone else offered me a sit on theirs out of sympathy.

Ed found a new home as a hunter, with an experienced family in Hereford. No circles or schoolwork neccessary so was perfect for them as passed by the vet for hunting etc.

LOL I can't have another dog (I have two already, my poor nerves couldn't take it :D)

Would love to visit Dorey!! :D

I was going to go and get lessons with Sam Twyman, but it feels a bit of a stupid time to do it as I won't have a horse to come back to to enjoy all my new found knowledge on! I might forget it!

Book and DVD recommendations welcomed!

I am not exactly horseless but have 2 yearlings so not a lot to do, horsewise really. So, I spend too much time on this forum,do a bit of gardening,go for walks and as a last resort, housework. i want to get a bike then I can investigate the local bridleways and those further afield with a view to riding them in the yars to come. it is all boring though. ho-hum.

It is very boring. I could buy again, I have my fingers in a few pies so to speak, but I'm not actively looking at the moment.
My friend (member on here KerryFlower) is off for her first BE events soon, so will nag to go along to help her which should slake my thirst for a while! ;)

I spend way too much time on my laptop (mostly on Horsemart!), and while I was home for the Easter holidays I worked in return for lessons. I think my riding is actually improving more now because I'm forced to ride all sorts of different horses rather than just my familiar comfortable cob, but I miss him so much and I am utterly bored without one of my own to look after. Fingers crossed I can find one in time for summer!

Sorry you are Ed-less. I am also horseless and bored out of my skull so know what it's like! Isn't there someone on your old yard with something you could sit on? Otherwise I'd be tempted to go for the lessons, at least you will stay riding fit. I haven't sat on anything apart from the sofa for 6 months since I moved and am REALLY unfit now.

In the pub last week I was offered a lumpy unfit lazy cob to try, not sure it will be any good but it lives close to home and am now so desperate I'd ride a cow!

Hope you find something soon.

LmcL yes I am totally glued to horsequest and horsemart - but horse prices are really quite high atm and I'm not throwing money away quite yet (or trying not to!!)

MM - yes the dogs are having their back ends walked off but with the weather I can only really go out in the evening, which does nothing for my weekends *nail biting* over horses! hehe

In about 3 hours I will be handing my beautiful mare over to her new owners and I'm sat here breaking my heart. I've had her since she was 6 months old and in the last 15 years my circumstances have changed to the point where I have to say goodbye to her. I shall miss her desperately and after nearly 30 years of horse owning I have no idea what I am going to do with myself.

Oh and how the hell do I not cry when handing her over?! It's in public too (at a dressage comp) :-(

Sorry Kitty didn't mean to hijack xx

Thank you, best thing really, better for him to go somewhere he can do the things he likes still, rather than be chucked out in a field with me! If you fancy coming along to any events I'm sure we can buddy up on transport and go looking at the pretty shiney horses if you like!! :D Good luck with super cob :D

Deep breaths! It was nice for me as I took Ed to his new home and spent some time with the girl, once i saw all the lovely things she's bought for him and seen his beautiful deep bed, it left me sad but happy for him. Part of me wanted to cry but I'd done my crying beforehand (think up til midnight bawling jobby) so I was weary more than anything! two days later I had photos emailed of him out and about enjoying his new life and my sadness turned into a beautiful smile for him.
We do our best for them, well we try don't we. Don't worry about the hi-jack :) I understand x
