My Riding Instructor is cancelling booked lessons by text, "No Lesson Today" end text, and then when you arrive the next time to have your lesson a different instuructor is there to give the lesson. Sorry but I find this is very bad manners on the part of the instructor and would prefer to be told what is going on. I know some people would say leave, but when you have travelled all the way there and had to adjust your time accordingly, it is very frustrating. I would have thought in the current enonomy that people would be trying to improve customer relations, but it seems to be the opposite. What do you all think, am I just over reacting.

I take it this is a Riding School and not a freelance on your own horse?

I would ask why your lessons are being cancelled. I never cancel a lesson without giving a reason, and I rarely do it as I don't like letting people down.

I would find somewhere else to ride

If you are having this problem I would telephone before you set out & check who will be doing the lesson. If it's someone different & you don't want that particular instructor then you cancel. You are the client & will be paying for the lesson so it is up to you to decide if you will accept the change ot not.

Cancelling with no reason and via text is not good manners or customer service. I have a few clients who I would text to book and cancel but I would always give a reason if I had to cancel. I also have some who hate texts and so I would ring them if I needed to cancel.

When booking next lesson stress which instructor you are booking it with and that any changes to that need to be notififed to you well in advance.

Hi Thanks to all who replied, I did think to myself that it was not very mannerly to text this without any explanation, and what really tickles me is that when I ring or cancel face to face, I get 20 questions as to why Im not coming. People are Strange. :)
