A question

Even if charities take on horses for the publicity, surely this is quite a wise move as it will draw attention to their charity and likely boost funds. I dont see whats wrong with that? The clydesdale rescued is the ILPH branch very near me and I can assure you most of the horses there are proper rescue cases and not just "couldnt afford to keep them anymore" horses.

martyna - I dont know you, but if you can't afford to buy a basic turnout rug then how on earth do you afford to feed your other 6 ponies etc.? I'm sure one of us had a 6ft rug lying around but did you expect it for free?! In which case why do you feel someone else should fund it? I'm all for rescueing horses and its nice that you are trying to look after it as best you can, but at the same time it is a little worrying that you cant fork out for a turnout rug which you can get off Ebay for as cheap as about £15!

Hold on a second, in your original post you said

"just paid alot of money as this poor horse was in a terrible way and being abused, so ive taken him on although i didnt want to"

If he was dumped what money have you spent and how do you know he was abused?

If the horse was dumped on your land then report it to the police who should in turn report it to the rspca who should then take the horse. I think they don't take them off the general public as otherwise eveyone who had a horse they didn't want any more would be dumped on them.

As someone else said if you can't afford a few quid for a rug then how on earth would you manage if you had an unexpected vet bill/ damaged rug on one of your ponies/ additional shoeing expense. It is nonsense

Just been reading through this thread as not been on for awhile, and noticed, martyna, that in your original post asking for a rug you said you had 6 ponies, now in this one you only have 4 hows that then.
when you had a go at me once you said you kept your horses for life,so did 2 die.
there's no wonder no one trusts you.
