Does anyone aside from me have days where they just don't feel like going to do their horses?? It doesn't happy to me often but in the winter it is far more frequent than in summer! I suppose keeping my horse 30 minutes from home doesn't help the
Matter,
Sorry winge over :D

Am I the only one who's gets excited about seeing their horses in the morning...

I love waking up early on a cold crisp winter morning when the sun is just creeping up... and you can see your breath as you turn on the lights to your stables to see friendly happy warm faces whinnying at you over their stable doors waiting for their breakfast...

Just perfect...

I love it... always exciting seeing my horses in the morning!!!

Yep!! I only go to the yard once a day as I also live nearly 30 mins away and work dictates that it's mostly evenings, so I do everything in the dark in winter during the week.

I go up nearly every day in the summer (YO does him if I am not going for some reason) but in winter I get fed up with riding in the dark and only seeing my horse in the dark. I cycle and in winter do a spinning class once a week so I use that as my "day off" from horses. YO does him on that day and it does help to have a non horsey day off every week. I am lucky in that, because I work from home sometimes, I can usually manage to get up to the yard very early one day in the week and hack out. That helps to break the monotony of finding things to do in the school in the dark every day!

If we are all honest there will be the odd day when that extra 10mins lie in is so appealing - but I think you will agree that once up and down there at the yard that feeling always vanishes and thoses faces just lift you ready for the day ahead !

Nothing wrong with feeling this way sometimes and having a little wobble ! - horses are a huge commitment on time, money and emotions ! After all all good marriages have their wobbles doesn't mean that your not 100% commited ! The danger is when you don't go down - that's when you have to take stock ! Chin up winter is here there's nothing we can do about it - just enjoy those sunny crispy days and get through the wet muddy ones as best as possible !

Sometimes I would like to have a bit more sleep, but generally I can't wait to get down to the yard and see the girls. Seeing them in the morning makes my day and I feel lost if we are away (for a rare weekend!). See them twice a day and I wouldn't miss it for the world! Lots of clothes and warm gloves are your friend and make even winter days enjoyable!

Ditto this, the moment I walk into the barn and smell that smell of horses, and hay, and feed etc I just smile and its all worthwhile. :)
