Well, the farrier has just been and he is very pleased with her progress (low sugar diet & supps hopefully helping) and I have been given the go ahead to walk her out. :D If she's happy in-hand on the lanes I'm to try riding her. :D :D :D

I have however been banned from taking her up the bridleway at the moment as it's pretty stoney and steep. However he says that in time the bridleway ban will be lifted (once she's OK on tough terrain). ;)

I'm thrilled, it's been nearly a year and a half of field rest and PTS was definately on the cards a few months ago.

I will post pics when I've taken her out. :)

Now the main question is... should I take her to see her friends the 'dreaded alpacas' or should I be kind and go the non-alpaca way? :p

Thanks everyone. :D

You're all soft, but I'll concur to your wishes and take her the non-alpaca route first. ;)

I'm really pleased with my new Farrier, he took on a real challenge when he agreed to take me on as a client as her near fore was sooooo bad. The best thing is that all of my horses have better hooves now. :D

When I next take one of the youngsters up the bridleway, I'll take a photo of it as you'll see why CM isn't allowed on it yet and why I fell over twice the last time that I walked it. :p

I've told her very firmly that she isn't allowed to do anything stupid and definitely no taking herself off for hacks on her own (she has done this before, luckily the farmer had cut down some trees - everything looked 'different' and therefore scary - so she came home again).

Dreadful beast. ;) :p

Thanks JT. :) It's been a long haul.

Fantastic news, really glad to hear it and I hope you have a lovely alpaca free hack!

These horses are such hard work but there are moments like this that make it all worth while. Really pleased for you. Keep us posted :)
