he he... i'm with BB's on this one, not minding the coloured poles as much these days - old horse had MASSIVE fear of fillers and planks so hated them. He seemed OK with poles tho'!!!!

Rambo I ticked the second category. Whilst I won't jump 'anything' XC (size does matter!!) I am happier bowling along XC than SJ. Those coloured poles make me nervous... I don't care what stride I'm on XC we just jump - SJ I worry to much about striding. Perhaps I should just ride them XC style
My Mum keeps pointing out racing on tv, and gets all excited at Badminton etc and shouts 'ooh! Doesnt that horse look like scooby!" I get shivers up my spine.
Silly long legged long brown thing in my siggy..Why cant he be chunky and chestnut, ideally with a blonde mane and tail
I love all jumping but particularly XC. Don't have a fear of SJ per se, just knocking them down. I hate the feeling having a pole early in the round and knowing you've blown it and just finishing the course because you ought to.
That said my worst ever accident (ambulance job) was over a 2'6" SJ course.
I didn't click anything! Obv my main passion is SJ, but I will jump anything out hunting and I will certainly do some ODEs this year - may even pop round a PN or even a N - who knows!
Dressage for me now. Used to SJ seriously but have pretty much lost my nerve (and ability to even come close to seeing a stride). Never really enjoyed xc (would be literally sick in the box); haven't gone xc properly since I was 17! I do jump a bit at home but couldn't imagine doing so in public again.....but pigs might fly.
ash will jump anything coloured and natural and the bigger the better as far as her and the horse are concerned! they havnt attempted dressage yet but she making noises about having a go at that to.
Absolutely hate x country and when going round firle last march only jumped the jumps I wanted to do whilst having a nervous breakdown. Never again!!!!
B.......... tho my fear of those coloured poles is dwindling!!
...... jumped bigger xc than sjing ...... its mad..... im mad i dont attually get where my fear comes from...... well i had a lil mare who was bad sj but ok xc.......... maybe thats where it started..... viewed more sjs from the bottom then xc ones
I'm rubbish at coloured poles because I get this 'I most go slowly and carefully' mentality and the next thing I know, I have actually pulled my poor pony up in front of the fence.
XC however, she just totally ignores my feeble pulling on the reins and hauls me over everything at about 90mph. So much better LOL
I fall perfectly into the B category - showjumping is absolutely terrifying!! Striding never even occurs to me XC but when I'm showjumping I just can't get it right and I nearly always mess it up.
no option for me, i do dressage (as you know) however i love showjumping and x country, just dont have the horse to do it on. I cant wait for Archie to start jumping properly
