Oh and especially if you had stitches (ouch)

as soon as you feel ok to ride.
i had no stitches and rode after two weeks after my 1st baby, but it got longer with each birth.
i waited the full 6 weeks after i had number 5 on doctors say so.

I had a section and I rode 6 weeks after. Basically the day I could drive was the day I drove down the yard and rode. If I was allowed to ride earlier I would have. Just go with what your body is saying. If you feel fine and dandy go for it , if you dont , dont push it.

A couple of weeks and i had stitches, we had moved to a new yard and decided to go for a short walk, got lost and ended up in the saddle for about an hour

was ok though, just get back on when you feel happy and ready, everyone is different

You will know when its right for you.

I think I would have been comfortable after a few weeks - I had stitches, but did not ride for a few months - just tired and did not get round to it - I was breast feeding and for some reason just did not feel like getting back in the saddle straight away.
I am pregnant again, so going though it all again - oh it is so much fun I can hardly contain myself! !

Thanks guys

I think this week I'll drag him in from the field and tidy him up and next time I go to see him (40mins away on parents farm) I'll go for an amble down the beach and if all goes well its shoes on and away we go

That's if I can squeeze it in between feeds

Medical advice was 6 months after my first only because I haemorrhaged badly and various other things.

I didn't feel like it for nearly a year.

This time though (baby due any day now), I hope to hop back in the saddle as soon as I can - so long as nothing goes wrong as it did last time.

Do it in your own time, when you are comfortable.
