A Quick Question - Maybe Stupid

I have a Clevelandbay Mare, she is mostly Clevelandbay with a tiny bit of Thoroughbred. I am being told that she will have a Bay foal as she is Cleveland"BAY". She is in foal to a coloured stallion not homozygous, is this true ? Is she more likely to have a Bay foal or does this not affect anything ? Sorry may sound a bit stupid !

on balance I would have thought the chances of her having a bay foal are slight better than 50% but what base colour is the stallion?

I have known alot of clevelands and while they do have a lot of bays when crossed with other breeds I known quite a few grey and chestnut 50/50 CB/other breed crosses . You would have to get your mare tested to see what colour she may throw to know for sure.

The stallion is Country Marksman he is Bay Tobiano, this is my mares pedigree

As your mare is in foal it is a little late to start worrying about the colour. Surely half the fun of breeding is the joy of seeing what comes out - conformation, temperament and colour!

I was not worrying, I do not mind at all sex or colour just as long as it is healthy just wondered if it would have an affect of the foals colour
