Hi

I am going to start my mare on "horse first - relax me" and the dose states:

2 scoops in morning feed and 2 scoops at night for the loading period of 5-10 days - now my mare only has a handful of chaff and a cup of lo-cal in the evenings ....... would you just give her 2 scoops at night or all 4 in the evening?

Thanks

Could you just split your feed into two equal parts then put two scoops of additive into both halfs - if you see what i mean , i think giving all four measures at once may not be wise , but you could always contact the manufacturer , they would tell you.

I could do it in 2 - just means 2 16 mile trips to the yard to feed twice.

I thought that 4 in one was too much as well to be honest.

I will ring them tomorrow and see what they recommend - I know with this supplement people have to adjust it to suit.

I used this with my mare and had a similar problem as she wouldn't eat her feed with 2 scoops in so I put one in the morning and one in the evening I think it just took a bit longer to get into her system (prob 2 weeks if I remember rightly). It worked well but I have now moved her onto a hormone supplement as she really only needed it when in season.

Thank you :) Im just going to give her 2 scoops in the evening for the 10 days (5-10 it says on the pack for loading) then go on to the 1 scoop and hopefully it will work out - will check with Horse First tomorrow.

Did you find it worked well? My girl is anxious and just cant concentrate so goes a bit stupid lol!

I too have just started my chap on it, had the same prob with feeds. I gave him 3 scoops in his eve feed for 5 days and tomorrow, the 6th day he will have 2.

Hi,

I spoke to Horse First and they said it will be fine to feed 4 scoops in one feed - so tried it tonight and she hardly touched the food at all so im going to go back to the original plan and do 2 scoops - might try some NAF mint and garlic in there as well because it does smell funny lol

Let me know how you all get on with it - fingers crossed!!
