To Tarrsteps, for her quiet support, following Tea-bags total meltdown in his first day,big-tour,grass arena,gale-force winds debacle. Otherwise super-pleasant French weekend including the subsequent 2 clear rounds, gradual improvement of OHs grumpy moodiness(following initial horsie meltdown),yummy evening seaside gastronomy (incuding fantastic sand-dune sculptures) and some top class results from best mate Philip in every big tour class (1st and 2nd in 1.40 and a 5th in the GP) and resulting in marvellous donation of hard-won,bright pink summer-sheet to Madeleine, for her horse,'The Dunkmeister'
Great weekend!

A report might be forthcoming after I have washed the sand out of my ears....
(Seriously,it was blowing THROUGH the windows)

Thank-you for my thank you but it was definitely my pleasure. :) I was excited to have the opportunity to take my Unofficial HHO Chef act nternational but relieved when The Big Boss could step in after all. Phew. The Team Arenberg hospitality was second to none! And I met some fab people (and dogs . . . lots of dogs) and saw some very exciting horses. Oh, and the sun shone!!

Tea-bag just had to blow out the cobwebs (or not have them blown straight into his brain, depending on how you look at it) and get his horsey mojo working. I'll be able to say I knew him when (although I'm sure he won't even return my calls when he's famous) and actually got to feed him an Extra Strong Mint. Or ten. ;)

And another round of applause for Phillip. The GP was taking no prisoners - he rode it like he stole it and was UNlucky to be 5th. Great round.

There are people sniggering at "quiet" though. . . If I was quiet it was probably because I was thinking about when me might eat next. :D

It's a great show and it was a brilliant weekend. I'd recommend the venue to anyone from the UK looking to dip a toe into international waters.

:O Sounds like a mad weekend! Hate hate hate sand, I'd shuddering just reading that...

You would have needed therapy after the beachside meal then! From inside the restaurant the wind was making the sand look like a snow storm, there literally was sand coming through the window seals and covering the table, and the short walk from the are took on a Scott Expedition feel!

Only one very well behaved official team dog but an unbelievable number at the show, very few on leads. Fairly regular occurence for one or more to wander into the ring to be met with a Gallic shrug. :D

No problems though and you have to love a country that lets you bring dogs into restaurants!
