a quick 'to plait or not to plait' question for showing.

looking to show my 2 and a half yr old coloured cob x warmblood this yr in inhand in coloured and youngstock classes, would the judges prefer to see him plaited with plaited tail or pulled tail?

I would say plaited defintaly, a pulled tail is correct but if youd prefer not to and its local level then im sure a nicely plaited tail will be fine.

Pictures would be good but I agree with others, most likely pulled, plaited and trimmed feathers etc

This is him shortly after i got him, looking very skinny but much better for a good bath, hes grown alot since these last summer and filled out lots.

definitely plaited and trimmed up for showing.

for smaller shows you can get away with plaiting the tail rather than pulling... and based on my youngster's reaction to having her mane pulled I will not be pulling her tail... The tail rakes are good, but need to be kept on top of so you don't end up with a bog brush tail...

The rakes are great with practice, I had many a compliment when I had plaiteds for my tails Once done they are so easy to keep on top of too

Really interested to read the replies above as I have a nearly 2 year old palomino filly that I hope to show in youngstock & coloured classes. She has a beautiful flowing long mane and crinkly baby tail, just wondered what the advice would be for me as I currently plan to leave her as natural as possible?
