A random question about headcollars...

Hi all

Good to have the forum up and running again

Anyway today was a designated 'study day' for me...so naturally I was on the internet looking at tack

Which brings me to my random question: some of the leather headcollars I saw had a small clip on the side, below the head buckle:

Stupid question, but what's it for?

So you can leave it fastened but unclip at the throat to take off/put on, bit like a bridle.

Must admit, they took some getting used to, I'd always forget and take off normally which isn't the point of them!

Me too! I use my headcollar like a halter

They're so much easier to use when you have cold fingers too.

just make sure it is a clip not the kind of clip you just push to open, because my horse managed to attach himself by that bit of his head collar to his haynet whilst travelling yesterday

luckily he didnt panic and just stood with his head down until we got there and I found him
