Took Genie off to a riding club show today... Bathed yesterday and then wished I hadn't bothered, as we got DRENCHED.
Did In Hand M&M first of all and was reminded why I don't do in hand... I don't run nearly as fast as Genie! Anyhow, we got 4th and headed back to the lorry very wet.
Next was Ridden M&M, and although there weren't too many entries the judge decided to split the class. Genie was HOOF PERFECT (I was so chuffed!) and really slow (for her, so still faster than all of the other horses) and I was thrilled with Second Place! :-D
We qualified for the morning championship, and got Second Reserve Champion which I'm chuffed with.
In the afternoon we just had the cob class, and again she was absolutely hoof perfect. However, the judge basically didn't like her, and so she was unplaced for the first time ever.
It was a strong class, but disheartening when horses that do poor individual shows and nap are placed. Hey ho, that's showing! At the end of the day it's one person's opinion, and I think Genie is gorgeous!
Didn't take any photos while at the show as it was too wet to get the camera out (seriously). My jacket soaked through to my shirt, and I still can't feel my calf muscles. Need to dry out my hat as well...
So here's some Genie pics from when we got home and the bleeding sun came out! Despite all the rain, I think she still looks pretty good!
