A rather unusual report: horseback archery and jousting...

Thanks for posting. It was really interesting to read. You really look
the part. Can't wait to read about your at home sword based antics!! :)

Thanks, I'm glad folk are finding it interesting :)

I wonder if I should dig out the video of me poking myself in the eye with a plastic sword on Fergs a few years ago :eek3: Not sure I should be trusted with a real sword!

That looks SO cool! Fergs would be so keen for this I bet :D

:D He'd love it - nice simple tasks involving no isolation or challenging jumps / sideways movement = perfect :D

Great report!! I went jousting for my hen do a couple of months ago and loved it, as did all my hens (even though only one of them could ride!). That was at Knights of Middle England which I'd definitely recommend too!!

I honestly cannot imagine how non-riding folk can do it - I was having enough issues weilding lances / dealing with my woeful hand eye coordination without adapting to an unfamiliar riding experience! They're clearly more skilled folk than me! :D

What a great thing to do for a hen do though - very cool :)

That looks great fun, my son would love that, and so would i :-)

Ach, only what, an 8 hour drive down? Totally worth it ;) It is cool though, should you ever get the chance! :)

Oh wow! I've been eyeing up their confidence course for a while

They're a lovely bunch. I almost wonder if I should do their confidence course as I've turned into such a wet fish. Honestly was being truly feeble on the bay, it was embarassing! I felt like saying "I swear I'm not lying when I say I've owned horses for 15+ years and done everything... I backed my 3 year old this summer and was less feeble on him" but I figured that would only make me sound like I was even more mental!

I digress. What I was aiming to say was that they're very, very nice and would be pretty cool to do that sort of thing with :)

We were struggling slightly with the lances until one of my non-rider hens said "ah, you hold it like a clutch bag!!!" :D. All the non-riders were confidently trotting round a 'course' of rings, quintains and pig spears by the end, it was very impressive!
