Whats the nicest thing anyone has said to you about your horse?

I was chatting to Halfpass the other day and she said if her mare (Alee) was as good as Axel when she's his age (rising 6) she would be really pleased

It made my day to hear someone say that as he hasn't been the easiest of horses by any means, but I must be doing something right!

Mine gets called cute a lot because she is small and dapple grey. I think she reminds people of the rocking horses which they had as children - lol

A dressage judge once wrote on the comments bit of my sheet that my TB had "nice elastic paces". He's not really a dressage horse by any means, we just do it to go out and have a go at something, but she was one of the only judges to take him seriously and say something encouraging. He's very tense (as am I, I know this doesn't help him) and a chestnut TB and most dressage judges just criticise him and don't offer anything positive. So it was nice to hear that.

I did an xc training thing with Eric Smiley a couple of years ago, and he said that my horse was the one that everyone would like to take home with them

I have a fluffly little black pony who is only 11.3hh and when I say fluffy I mean I comb his neck/leg/body hair when I groom him! He was a riding school pony up until recently when the stables sadly closed down. As all the kids rode him on hacks and in the afternoon pony rides on the beach, EVERYBODY knows him. In the summer holidays you get a million kids "whisper" to their parents 'ask if its raffles' and 'oh look it raffles'. And their parent always say 'no its not' lol so I tell them it is and they look rather embaressed at being overheard lol. But they all love him and he is totally famous

I had the sadder out on Saturday and she said (while I was riding him in the first saddle just after he'd been a total prat when I was holding him waiting for her to get the saddle.....I was made airborn about 4 times when he reared up and tried to eff off

) "Despite the fact he's being really naughty he's just fabulous in't he!"

When I first got him I'd just been kicked out of the indoor school one evening and as I was going through the door the instructor (one of the best ones at college, he's fab!) told me to stop and started asking me loads of questions about him andwas making some really nice compliments

Eeerm my dressage instructor who taught her daughter to compete on the english team, and a very high level dressage judge said Lacey is very exciting because even though her good moments are sparse at the moment, when she IS good, she performs at a level where she could take me "absolutly anywhere"

Aaand my SJ instructor (used to be at my yard) said, after she watched her casually pop over the 5 foot+ fence of our round pen during a loose schooling attempt, that she doubts there's ANYTHING she can't jump [and she's a 14.3hh welsh cob].

Oh and at our first show someone wanted to buy her for 5 times the price I bought her for xD I got to turn round and say She's not for sale, sorry.

I often get comments about handsome Morris is

He is a gorgeous boy! And after my farrier rode him for me at a show (when he was being a little rearing s**t!!) he told me that he had a brilliant jump and great potential (but he's not the most outwardly spoken guy and doesn't often compliment so i was chuffed! He really liked him!) It made me so happy, since he's been a real challenge.

at my walk/trot test in Nov the judge wrote in the comments bit 'lovely forward moving horse' not bad for a thoroughbred, shire x with me on top! My YO often looks at him and says 'my he is gorgeous'!

Well my boy is very handsome and quite eye caching so I often gets nice compliments about him (usually before he's started acting the eejit and making a show of me)

However the strangest compliment I got was from a showing judge who after placing him first then said he'd make a lovely broodmare and it was a pity he was a boy!!!
