i just wanted to share with the world how happy i am today!
i have owned my heavy for 7 years now and when he came to use he was very nervous and green. its been a rough few years with a few good times but today was the best!!!
when hacking my boy naps years back i couldnt even get him off the yard, he is also spooky on his own and can be uncontrolably fast when it suits him. sooo i was 12 when i got him (family horse but noone else seems to ride him!!) and since then i have had 4 other horses as well as him. (all at different times) well i was overhorsed with my boy and a few of the ones i had werent the best behaved and after a fall when i was younger that resulted in me being air lifted to hospital i have always been a nervous rider.
so in Feb my other horse had to leave me to go back to rescue center as i could no longer afford him and im left with just the heavy. well i decided to give him another chance after all at 16.1hh he is soo small compared to my old horse (17.1hh)! well we started small in the school and progresed to riding down the lane on our own. we then hacked in company a few longer rides and he is really starting to get there.
last wednesday i took him on a hack with my friend and he decided to knap on the way home!!!! rode him through it and all is good.
soo knowing we can go round the block on our own and just about venture into the woods i decided to go a bit further!
we left the farm and went down the drive snorting like mad at the horses now in their summer grazing that we have to ride past. we get down to the bottom and enter a feild with sheep!!!!!!! normal sooo scary but not today!!! so into the woods we go a little spooky but nothing major!
Then at the bottom of the woods there is a gate the leads to a village with a nice road work lope (this is where i was heading) so through the gate and......
KNAP!!!! so after about five mins of him spinning round and leaping into the air i got him straight dug my spurs in and off we plod!!! so down a very steep lane we go and the OMG THOOSE PEOPLE ARE SAT OUTSIDE EATING THIER DINNER HOW SCARY!!!!! SO i tell him not to be so silly and off we go! Then we pass the school (trust me to ride past at lunchtime!!!!) very spooky but not to bad!! round the loop we go back up the steep lane through the woods and we WALKED through the feild with sheep ALL the way up the hill. (that hill normally invites a fast canter!!!) and then had a lovely steady canter on the grass track alongside the drive home!!!
so a very pointless post with lots of spelling and grammer errors but hey who cares I AM SOOO HAPPY!!!!!
