Chloe - 15.2 hh 15 years old shire x clydesdale.
Extremely safe, bombproof weight carrier.
She's good hacking in company, or on her own, and in the heaviest traffic.

Competed and won at RC prelim dressage comps, and can work to Nov level at home.
Done Le Trec, Handy pony and been round Somerford farm ride.
Doesn't jump more than 1'6"

Has a bog spavin on one hock, and scabby legs syndrome.

Good to catch, shoe, clip (apart from legs) and to handle.

Only for sale as owner is waiting for hip replacement, and Chloe will be too wide for her to ride afterwards

Thanks in advance for any thoughts you've got on her value!

I would have said around £2500 - £3000, but I have no idea really. I think shes lovely though, you'll have no problem selling her!

She's really sweet!
My instructor had a hip replacement, and she is now back on bother her very chunky cobs, will she definately be too wide?

Thanks!

It will depend on what type of replacement she ends up having, but my mare is narrower, and can do everything my mum would want to do (i.e. 1 hour hack once a week).

I'd love to keep Chloe myself, but haven't got time or money to do two horses justice, and she's too good to keep just as my spare

I would have said around 2.5 K, Such a sad reason to be looking for sell, could you not possibly loan on long term until after the op and until you are really sure you would not be able to ride her anymore

Thanks Accy.

My mum isn't keen on loaning, she'd rather sell her and let go completely. She is also thinking that when she retires next year then having a horse will take up a huge percentage of her pension.

If she is able to ride after the op, she'll have my horse to use, so won't be giving up horses altogether.

Would she take a side saddle? then your mum could keep er and look very pwetty out riding

He he, that's a great image! I've suggested breaking her to harness as well...

I'm sure she would take on, as she's very tolerant, but it's not just lack of movement in my mum's hip restricting her. She's got no strength in her leg to hold her whilst she mounts, and is basically a passenger once she is on Chloe. And in a lot of pain despite pain killers

Thanks

In 7 years the only unscheduled dismounts have been rider error - going under too low a branch, and not fastening the saddle properly, so she's about as bombproof as they come.
There's no rush to sell her, and we're determined to make sure she goes somewhere she'll be appreciated.

She looks a good sort, a bit like my sisters cob, they are worth there weight in gold to some people, If she is as safe as you say that should bump her price up, I would go around £3k

I wish I could afford her, she honestly sounds lovely, I wish you all the very best at finding her a lovely home,.

If i could afford another, I would have her tomorrow. Have always had a soft spot for her, reminds me in lots of ways of my Dolly. Such a shame you are having to let her go.

Agree with everyone else, £2.5-3k

Thanks to all for the kind words!

To be honest my initial thought was £1-1.5k, so I have been pleasantly surprised.

GypsyCob - she isn't too old to break to harness, and has probably done it at some point in her past before we got her. However it's something I'm unlikely to do as I haven't go the time to do her justice.
