Debating whether or not to clip daughter's pony this year and am leaning towards not clipping. she doesn't get dramatically hairy as she is part Anglo Arab and with it already dark at 5pm i'm not sure how many times it will be possible for daughter to ride after school during depths of winter.
she had a hunter clip when we bought her last winter and it was hell to keep her warm during the snow saga usually putting her in every rug we owned and she lived in 24/7 with a couple of hours turn out per day, we are now putting her out all day and in at night.
do you think a standard weight turnout rug (220g fill) with no neck be ok even in the depths of winter (dare i say it, snow?)? she is in her lightweight turnout during day and no rug in stable at night at the moment. don't want to get caught out and there are some good rug offers on at mo so wondering if i should get a thicker turnout and maybe a lightweight stable rug? (already have medium weight stable rug)
