Today my beautiful cat Nala was put to sleep.

She was the most loving cat i've known, just loved to be with us all of the time. She had to be as close as possible to you all of the time, even if it meant sleeping on your head!

I miss her so much.

She came into my life when i was 6 years old, a birthday present from my parents. We've had a very happy 14 years together.

But today was the day i had to let her go. I've never cried so much as i have done these past 4 days.

RIP Nala, you are so special.

My heart goes out to anyone else who has lost a loved one this christmas, whether it be human, horse or other animal

Such a pretty girl, and obviously much loved by you. I have an old lady cat very much the same in temperament (though only a moggie) and I dread that day coming, my heart goes out to you x

thank-you for the lovely messages.

We won't be getting another one as we still have our other cat Disney (other cat in the last picture) she wouldn't take too kindly to another cat, constantly chases the neighbours cat and any other that come on her land

Its stange how animals seem to know somethings wrong, Disneys been acting strangely the past couple of days.

RIP Nala you beautiful girl - to you sweetheart what beautiful happy memories you must have and as time passes you will think of beautiful Nala and smile happy that she shared your life - hugs to you at this sad sad time xxxx

Aww, I have a Nala too... lovely name for a gorgeous girly!

RIP Nala.

We made the difficult decision with Homer in august, after 16 long years. Poor bugger was probably 22 and had no intention of dying quickly. Horrible, horrible thing to have to do, but I know now he won't suffer anymore. Neither will your Nala. xx

So sorry for your loss xxx RIP Nala xxx

my wee cat was 22 1/2 years old when she died and id had her since she was 6 weeks old , i still miss her very much and still shed tears for her xxx

So sorry for your loss. I lost me ginger boy in October 2009 aged 19.5yrs and lost my first dog (15.5yrs) on christmas day 2009, we then lost a second dog (Very nearly 14) in Feb 2010 so my heart goes out to you. I miss them all every day but it has got easier, although I felt a little sad on christmas day. RIP Nala. Remember the good times and cry when you need to that's how I've got through the last 15 months.
Take care and huge hugs to you.

Could this be she knows her own kind? I didn't think my feisty choc point would take kindly to another cat but she was allowing a new kitten to suckle her within a few days of his arrival, silly moo's never even had kittens!
