Looks like I will be needing to sell my namesake Kao.
Never sold a horse before so could do with an idea on how much to put her on for, please

She's 20 months old, out of a dutch bred mare, sire unknown.
Lovely paces and should make a good jumper if she's anything like her dam.
Well handled, comes to call, used to being rugged (you can throw the rug on and she doesn't bother), currently lives out 24/7 and is doing fab.
Was stabled last year for part of the Winter, hasn't been this year as they wouldn't give me 1. Typical youngster but never done anything bad, she's just fidgety.
She should make 15hh plus, she's currently about 14hh tho I've not properly measured (don't have a measuring stick) and is good to worm and good for the farrier (little bit fidgety)
Can't think of anything else to add

I dont think she has a lot of value, mostly because her sire is unkown and that combined with her age and her height wont make her an easy sort to sell this year.
If you can back her then I would- even just get tack on her so that you can say she's had it on. Every little helps! I think realistically speaking you'd struggle to get much over 1k for her.
Her mummy is very nice

I really wanted to buy her Dam but she went for £7,000 to the 1st buyer

I handled Kao since she was 4 weeks old so I bought her instead

I was planning on leaving the bitting till the spring with getting her going in a roller and long lining her a bit once she was 2

Seriously, we need a 'companion' type so we can take two out, it's a pain have 3 together! And Paddy Ahern is just down the road so can break her in when she's ready. There's a home here for her for £20 a week if you need it. (I know it's a bit far to travel her though!)

Have you contacted her breeder to see if she can help you out?

Well basically I have no idea who bred her really. Her dam was brought over from Holland in foal (might be ireland, dealer can't seem to remember

) My old boss bought her dam only to sell her as they saw £££££. Which was right, she is cracking. Old boss still claims mare had a dutch passport, and the dealer vaguely remembered the dam so who knows
Ex boss will def not buy her back nor will her friend who co owned the 2.
When I was lied to about her breeding and going through a DNA test, I was pretty peeved and after being told she was actually worth what I paid for her, I asked for her to then buy her back if that was the case.
I still have her of course

Anyway thanks for all the replies.

I'm hoping to get her into livery elsewhere, need to find another job 1st, but we're not being evicted as long as i do my 2 days a week...woopeee...
