I'm thinking of selling my shetland Jethro. He's a nearly 2 and a half years old, about 28" or so, grey entire colt.

He is not really a looker bless him, but very sweet and affectionate. Half the time you cant get rid of him, He can be cheeky and stubborn- a typical shetland really.

I dont really want to sell him, but my bigger two are bullying him a bit and the poor chap is forever on his own at the opposite side of the field and seems quite depressed.

I could do with some help with wording the advert and pricing. I realise he is not worth much, but I would like to ensure (as much as possible) that he finds a good home.

A couple of (not very good) recent pics, will get better ones for advert:

at their feet, they have had the farrier since, honest.

If as you state he isn't a looker, why is he still entire? I would have thought you would have a much greater chance of a sale if he was gelded.

Aah, I think he looks adorable. definately more of a looker than some I have seen, he has a really cheeky face!
Sorry, dont know about price though but would have thought he would be more saleable if he had been cut but would probably cost you his value having that done??

Thanks everyone.

YorksG, I'm not intending to breed from him and never have. I was told to let him mature before getting him done (which was probably stupid of me to believe), but I should have got him done this spring really.

If I cant sell him, then I will get him cut although as hollyf said, it would probably cost more than he is worth.

how much would you like for him, i would be interested in a little one for local showing, im very fond of little ones ( my horse is 17hh!)

Thank you SpikyMare

horseyh, I have to admit that the home is more important than the price though, hence this post as I didnt want to price him to cheaply or too expensive. Sorry, that probably doesnt help you much!

Please get him cut before selling him - if he's sold entire, some idiot will breed from him, and although he's clearly very sweet and charming, he's not stallion-quality!

If you dont want to sell him he could always come and live with my shettie as he is needing a companion. (Would have to be cut though)

I think he is really cute bless him

Anglesey is a fair way though
