The neddy cut his leg up pretty nastily earlier :( Silly sod rolled and somehow got his leg through the hay rack up on the wall. God knows how as it's way above head height!!
Anyway, had to have it flushed out [shamelessly admitting I was utterly USELESS with the blood :o ] and now packed and bandaged up.

*Sigh*

My optimistic 'the week will get better' view at the start of this week hasn't been proved right so far at all.

Bloody TB's!!! Never had any emergencies or accidents with my welsh mare.....

HUGE sympathy coming your way. I have a stoopid accident prone TB myself and know well your woe.

Hope it clears up as quickly as it can with no infection (that other TB speciality)

I hope it has been scolded thoroughly, albeit in a loving voice so it doesn't know what your saying is horrible. It always makes me feel better :)
 
BIG FAT SYMPATHY, but also, my boy spent the ENTIRE SUMMER (from 2nd of May to the 19th of Sept) bandaged up with all his bloody injuries....bad at the time, but now my vets give me discounts on callout, and order him his favourite colour of vetwrap!
 
Cheers :( Infection's my worry too! It went in, poked around a bit and came back out the way in went in...so sort of like a 'pouch' which is why it had to be flushed :o :(

Thoroughly scolded in a loving manner!!! Wouldn't have been as bad....but he'd just refused to be caught prior to this and finally caught him....to leave him in his stable for 5 minutes and come back to THAT!

Unamused. Not been able to ride him all week, so was rather looking forward to a ride on my horse finally!!!
 
Oh the joy of owning suicidal Tbs!!! How the heck didhe manage getting mangled in a hay rack!!! They get themselves into some situations dont they :rolleyes: ... hope he gets better soon :)

Sounds like mine too. Only usually it tramples me so I shout at it and then in retaliation it will throw itself into a hedge or hang itself on its haynet. That is why it only gets scolded lovingly now. Just in case it is doing it as retribution.
 
LOL that made me chuckle Jess haha! Mine's usually pretty sensilbe, but when he does do something, he does it in the most absurd way you'd never think of!!!

I don't even use the hay rack, they're just part of the stables. He has his on the floor. Everyone's looked at it and the height and been 'How the HECK did he do that???!'

But thankyou all...glad I'm not the only one!!
 
Yikes. Horses huh... Hope it heals quickly and well!

We went through a stage of alternating lameness - it was either me or the Dizz, never at the same time. She's a DWB, maybe she caught it from a TB lol.
 
My horse was play fighting through a 'window' opening in a Yorkshire boarded building side. He turned around and ponio bit him on the bum - so he bucked at him - and got stuck with both his hind legs through the opening. He just hung there over the wall until he somehow pulled himself back out. The flipping gap is almost 5' high at the bottom edge...

He hopped round on three legs for a few minutes til I caught him, but actually escaped with just grazez. You sure yours didn't buck at the hayrack?
 
I'll give you sympathy if you can give me some sympathy!

Mine was kicked yesterday, got a nasty wound on his hock and is currently at Liphook on IV anti-biotics for the next 5 days. I'm just hoping the a-bs work so he doesn't need surgery, as he's not insured. Then however many weeks of box rest. I've only owned him for 6 weeks and for half of that he had back/saddle issues...
 
Hmmm, that's a point Brighteyes....it's a possiblity. Would make more sense than him rolling....I just thought I'd heard him rolling and then some loud thrashing, to find that lol :(

Oh no Jen!!!! I'd been meaning to ask you how you've been getting on since you bought him! How awful :( Hugs and vibes for you x
 
Oh blimey that's bad luck, fingers crossed for him to heal up quickly!

I swear some horses have a death wish, the chestnut in my siggy was out in 4 acre field fenced with post and rails. She managed to roll and get her legs stuck under the fence. What can I say....sigh
 
I once saw a very big horse rolling in his stable because he had colic and he flung himself over and his hoof went through the barred window and he then ripped the whole heavy barred unit off the wall and thrashed around with it on his leg. It was horrendous. His colic was soo bad he couldn't stand up(kept collapsing on the yard) and he was put down pretty quickly. What could have gone wrong that night certainly did.

Hope your horse gets better soon.
