I'm just going to put my saddle up for sale on my local riding club website and I am unsure on how much to ask?

Meadow creek GP saddle

16inch, x wide fit, havanna brown
Excellent condition, brought brand new 18 months ago and been well looked after.

So how much do you think?

I've posted this in NL as well

Thanks in advance

I've never heard of a meadow creek saddle.

How much did you pay for it new? Maybe advertise at half new price?

I paid £800, so £400, thats the sort of prica i was thinking.
So long as I have enough for a new wintec

Meadow Creek are a small Walsall saddle makers. Good quality leather and trees - similar to Jeffries or Sabre but relatively unknown to most people- that is the problem with getting a good price. Have you tried any MCreek stockists? They might have a ready made market...
Otherwise i think you will struggle to get £250 TBH.
Have you tried to partexchange it against the wintec you want?

I am going to ask when the saddle fitter comes out which is 2 weeks, I am pretty sure this saddle does not fit my horse, so planning to get new wintec, he's going to check current saddle (meadow creek) first anyway but pretty sure I will ahve to get new one as she has changed shape dramaticly. I wanted to see what I could get for it privatly first, bit disapointed at under £250

It's a GP but quite straight cut, I do country level WH and have never been penilised (sp) if I had they money I would get another but obv. in a wide

The problem you will have is that it is an unknown make, so might be difficult to sell irrspective of the price.

If I were you I would contact the manufacturer, they may well be able to alter the tree to fit your horse.

I dont think the make is unknown, I have been on a few second hand saddle shops online and they always seem to have one, I'm trying not to spend any money (getting a new cheap saddle (wintec) hopefully for the price of my saddle second hand, and altering the tree seems rather costly :S

I bought mine brand new for £250 and my local shop still has two left to sell . Like it has been said although a good make it is unknown and people seem reluctant to take a chance on an unknown name and they don't have the advertising etc that albion, stubben etc have. You may find that a saddler may take it in part exchange for your next saddle .

Sorry that the value disappointed you- just trying to be realistic as to what i have seen them SELL for rather than advertised price.
Have you considered having the tree adjusted? Try
matt@heritagesaddlery.co.uk
He posts on here and i have used him for around 15 years for major saddle repairs as well as made-to-measure new ones.

I have just rang my saddler; they aren't buying second hand saddles atm because people aren't buying them, they are going to e-bay, so maybe I will ring a few more local saddlers and see if they will take it off my hands; I may just have to cut my losses and sell it cheap
