A show dilemma

There are quite a few shows coming up this summer and I am currently riding a pony who is really lovely, however pretty green and doesn't know much. Would it be too much to take her to one or two very small shows doing a few very small classes? I wouldn't really have anyone else to ride in these shows and she is nice, I expect the experience would be good for her but I'm worried that if she plays up it'll look like she's being rushed. What should I do?
 
I think that you should go for it, the best way you can make them more confident is with experience. Take her to one and see how she goes, if she's comfortable in the surroundings then enter her in a class or two. If she's not happy then take her back home, simples :) Even the best show ponies have their 'moments' and if she does start playing up you can just hop off and explain to the judge. Usually at small shows there are lots of inexperienced horses and riders so I'm sure the judge will understand :)
I am taking the pony I ride to his first show on Sunday, it's only down the road so if he's not happy then we can just trundle back to the yard :D You should put a Green ribbon in her tail though, this is a warning to other riders that she is green and could mess about a little. Good luck! :D

Thank you, good luck with yours! I think I may enter some very small jumping classes (40cm), an inhand and a flat.
