A skull cap helmet that’s actually comfortable!

I’ve been getting into xc a lot more recently and in doing so, I located my old skull cap and brushed the dust off it it to use instead of my usual fixed peak hat, not the best idea as I realised it’s over 7 years old 🙈 it’s a champion hat, thick made and no air vents, so heavy and sweaty on the head!

Is there any comfortable, lighter feeling vented ones on the market these days? I’ve seen a few advertised but I’m not sure if they’ll be similar to the old one

Many thanks

There are some more lighter weight ones these days - the most comfortable are the ones that fit really well so find somewhere that stocks a variety and go and try a few different brands on

Some people will tell you a particular make is more comfortable than another make. Don't take what they say is right or you will end up buying a hat that isn't right for you. You need to go out & try various makes of hat. Some will be round in shape others will be oval & they are deliberately made this way so they will suit all the various shapes of heads out there. You need to try plenty & eventually you will decide which manufacturer makes a hat suitable for your shape of head.

I've been wanting a skull cap for a while; I find the peak on my helmet a real problem with visibility, especially why ducking under branches out on rides through the forest.

Decathlon is a waste of time for this kind of thing, and the only retailer left in town has small sizes and only two models of skull, and the prices start at over €150...
