Following a minor meltdown earlier in the week
(cheers folks for the words of wisdom
). I have to admit to being a little reluctant to go to dressage this morning
. However having got home last night to find a clean and plaited pony I didn't have much option
! So off we set, late as always, arriving 20 minutes before my first test. They had made a mistake when doing times and had put me in to do P12 at 11.27, and P18 at 11.28
. After a frantic email they said to turn up early and they would slot me in. As mentioned above that didn't happen
. Very quick warm up and we were in for P12. Harry was half asleep, so it was bloomiing hard work, but he felt straight and soft and did all the movements in the right places
. Straight out of 1 arena and into the next for P18. Poor Harry was a little confused to suddenly find himself trotting round a different arena! Gave him a couple of taps with the schooliing whip to try and get him a bit more forwards. Unfortunately I slightly over did it, and P18 was done at warp speed, and was a little untidy
. Oh well! After having some lunch (it was only 30 mins since I had arrived
!) Went to check the scores to find I had won P12 with 68%
, and 5th in P18 with 62.5%. So Harry brought 2 rosettes home with him, and most importantly got his first ever first (even in racing he always came 2nd!)
! Turns out he was 4% ahead of everybody else in P12
.
So I bit the bullet and have entered him for the combined training there next week, with the jumping at a most ginormous height of 60cm
! Fingers crossed all will go to plan, as this will be his first ever competitive jumping outing. Thankfully I have a lesson before next weekend where hopefully I will learn how not to ride like a numpty
!
