My chuffed mother post won't be a touch on Tabledancer's but here it is! Last weekend we took B and his 11.2hh pony to an agricultural show to do a couple of flat classes, something I have been meaning to get around to but never quite managing. The pony was successful in his previous homes in the show ring but aside from one lead rein outing this was their first foray into the ring together.

They went well

and ended up winning both classes :D. Check out the grin!

and then Champion!

Mini son was over the moon and the pony had a fantastic rest of the day out munching hay on the lorry ;) It just goes to show how quickly things can turn though as A had a bad fall in the lorry park a few hours later and, off paying entries, I got the call that everyone dreads saying there had been an accident and he was hurt. The paramedics got there quickly and thankfully he was fine. I think he was saved by his mare, Saffy, who was spooked by something blowing suddenly from between a lorry and a trailer and lost her footing and went over :( She ended up caught against the trailer on her side with cuts to her forelegs and neck but kept herself off A. Thankfully she will only have a few small scars and is fine but she was a good friend that day.

There was no rest for the recently almost squashed and the next day we had a PC rally with Barney the Ghareeb boy who has evented

who we also took xc schooling last week and A had a ball with him in the pouring rain..

They even got to meet some bears! :D Don't they both look delighted to be getting even more wet?

This week has been the busiest of the week at work - the horses are my hobby :) - and A has two new irish additions to the yard to produce. Harry is a 16.1hh 5yo by VDL Cancun (Corland) out of a Cruise On (Cruising) mare. I bought him last autumn unbroken and he has been very well produced for me since then, and these pictures were taken the day he arrived this week

And this is our new almost 15hh 4yo connemara girl Zoe who is by Sillogue Supreme, a full brother to Irish European SJ team pony Sillogue Darkie (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6pX-7xOo-g) She is unbroken but under my supervision A is going to break her this summer along with his much smaller and lighter girlfriend unless she - Zoe not his girlfriend - is sold before that.

All in all a busy few weeks with ups and downs. More ups and downs on Saturday as we head off to Ireland again. You'd think I wouldn't need travel sickness tablets to fly by this time....!

All together now, "Awwwwwwwwwww!" ;)

All looking good! Eep about the call to your squished son but glad everyone's okay. Do I take it there is more eventing on the cards then?

Well done B, he looks so cute on a pony :D. Has he been tempted by a few red frillies to have a go at a bit more showing or is he planning on sticking to the jumping?

Hope saffy is back on form soon, sounds like a nasty near miss.

Also had a little giggle about the clarification on the girlfriend not being for sale.

Pony and B have matching grins in the trophy photo, they are so sweet!

Glad A was fine, that phone call is never a nice one! Hope Saffy heals up nice and quickly, poor girl, must have been a nasty shock for them both :(

Have you thought of ways yet to stop time and keep B like that forever more?;)
Well done to all and glad the scary moment didn't come to anything too serious.
Happy shopping trip!:D

Poor Saffy - what a horrible thing to happen. Love the pony and B looks like the Cheshire cat, trophies too!
Love your updates ..... and your new horses :)

What a lovely pony, would think they would have a fairly successful showing season.

Glad A and Saffy ok, and very much like Harry :)

Big congrats to B and Morgan, they look so cute together!!!

Glad that A and Saffy are both ok.

Have a great time in Ireland, definitely a bit jealous :)

I'm surprised A has time for a girlfriend, lots of lovely new additions to your stable.

So pleased for B, they look lovely together :)

Well done on the red frillys, the photos are sooo cute :)

Although it was Barney that caught my eye, he is lovely. I am a sucker for a nice chestnut.

Aww how cute!

Bet you were worried to death when you go that phone call, hope saffy heals quickly.

Must admit i have fell in love with the grey mare!

Msg to B from E, 'wow, well done your pony looks really cute':)

What a day for you, hope A and Saffy are none the worse for their experience, it amazes me how much a horse will do to try to save its rider, what a good girl she is.

Loving the new ones, especially Zoe, will look froward to following her progress.

Have a great time in Ireland

B rode like an absolute pro and that pony is a superstar! They make a great wee team and we were all rooting for them in the supreme. Glad to hear A and Saffy are recovering well, sounds like it was pretty horrific and both were lucky all things considering. Spoke to the other secretary this morning, she got your entries and says thank you!

Fab pictures!

I love how the pony obviously anticipated this cold snap we're having and hung onto those cosy legs! :D

Will tell B that :) He rode Poppy for the first time in E's blue breeches and had endless fun when he got off playing with the velcro! :D

Looking forward to an update on your connie baby, too.

Glad it reached her. Ben is so competitive (wonder where he gets that from ;) ) that he was very dissappointed in the supreme. Entirely understandable that he didn't win and the lollypop offered to all young competitors by the ring steward made him forget instantly! Thanks again for a super show :)
