About 2 years or so ago I was in a bad place riding wise.Had a totally unsuitable/sharp horse (although I didn't fully realize it at the time) and one very damaging instructor. All pleasure and confidence had left me.Enter new instructor who seemed good and very sympathetic and kind. After 2 lessons though she became quite aggressive and bullying.I dumped her asap. Now in a happy place with really lovely instructor/horse.Thing is Mary, as we will call her, has started up a smashing little club that does things that I would love to do and no other club does.Things like western lessons etc.A chance to try different things and is not particularly competative.Just don't trust this woman.Would you give it a chance if you were me or steer clear?

Sounds like you've been badly let down in the past which has knocked your confidence. If you want to have a go at the thing offered in the new club I'd say go for it but at the same time be aware of what has happened in the past & tske things slowly until you feel you can trust again. Not everyone out there is a scum bag, but sometimes it takes a while to find them.
Good luck & have fun.
