A small (ok very long) Blair report

P.s. I love watching ERM on my laptop when I get the chance. It's a thrilling competition and Blaire was particularly exciting. Do the competitors enjoy the formatt as much as us viewers and do you think it is the future of eventing?

What a fantastic result and a great report, I tried to reply on the Blair thread the other day but HHO was having one of it's moments.

Just missed your dressage but saw your SJ and some of your XC: coming over the wall down the hill to the 2 skinny brushes, the huge parallel to the second water and the jump up the mound which you think you fudged, and I have got some great photos but I'm not home for another 6 days.

Well done, especially after the terrible start with breaking down, that would have really thrown most people.
Ah thank you, I'll look forward to seeing them when you are back. It was a terrible start - we were stuck in the services for 4/5 hrs and I kept convincing myself it was a sign not meant to be until we started again :)
Just wow, fabulous report and fabulously well done by the pair of you!
Thank you, much appreciated
Well done, we saw a good few problems at the second of both the open corners and brush corners at the end of the course, you and your nippy wee lad were spot on at them. Breakdowns are so stressful too, glad you made it there and got to sample the delights of Blair, it really is special imo. The stable management team are used to night time arrivals, I don't think you were the only one from what my son said.
He is a very honest horse, last year he would of thought twice about going around those corners ;) glad I wasn't the only one keeping the stable team up!
Great report and photos, what an achievement!
Thank you, very pleased with our last event of the season
Great report and well done for an ERM spot. It was possibly the most exciting finish I've seen this year. Your round was lovely and you made a super job of those hedges near the end.

Well done and best of luck for next season.
Ah thank you, I think it was all about the approach before them if you couldn't see the line you were in trouble :)
Well done. I like the fact that the breakdown and shoe loss didn't stop you.
Nothing stops us really does it, well maybe a rainy day occasionally ;)
Brilliant stuff.I bet you can't wait for next season.
Yes, really looking forward to it now. I keep getting asked about 4* but for me 3* is quite enough!

Glad you enjoyed watching it so much. I think from a competitors stand point there is more emphasis on riding with your head so to speak. You are made aware that you are being watched by a whole different audience online and that you need to make the best decisions for your horse regardless of anything else. A lot more goes on behind the scenes which is quite exciting, I don't know whether you noticed but all the riders had to ride with GPs trackers on, which are being trialled. I wore mine on my riding boots. So lots of exciting new technology and ideas are being brought forward and the ERM team despite me being an amateur were genuinely lovely, supportive and helpful.

Really brilliant report, I remember Uno with his previous rider, and you have done fabulously with him, well done!!

Bramham 3* next year?
