Yesterday when I was hacking my lovely boy out, when he was unsure of the scary horse eating lorry, scary horse eating mower, scary horse eating leaf blower, I just sat there with a whacking great grin on my face, like this > :D! Even though I didn't really feel like smiling, I put my leg on and reassured him and he was fine.

It's amazing how just sitting there with a smile on your face when your tensing up and getting scared helps. :)

Little git keeps yanking my arms off every time I give him a nice loose contact though, so were working on lots of give and take out hacking. And he's slowly getting the idea he'll enjoy himself much more on a nice loose contact if he doesn't take the pee every time I give it him! :)

So totally right, every time a butterfly (evil big beasts with masive teeth btw) jumped out of the grass, Darco went sideways, I laughed like a madwoman (even tho inside I was using some choice words :) )

That was my friend's advice.. Laugh in the face of adversity.. Or other wise - to me this is - man up woman!! Hahahaha

Haha! :) I'm sure Sunny tried to eat a butterfly as it flew past once, he thinks everything is edible.

In my last thread I explained how my darling, lovely safe cob bolted with me on board (I stayed on thankfully) after seeing demons coming out of the hedges. I ended up hysterically laughing out loud (weird I know) think it was the shock.

Anyway, since then I'm prepared, and everytime he is scared I kick him on with very encouraging words, praising and patting him for moving forward, telling him what a good boy he is all with a cheery tone. I'm sure this helps him have confidence in me, even though I might be s***ing myself!

Apart from smiling try not to look at what is bothering them. Works for me. I tell him if it scares you don't look!
