So.. where to begin?

Tris has done a little more dressage, coming 3rd in our second Intro and 4th in our first Prelim. He completely switched off between the two and didn't really engage for the Prelim - the judge was very kind.

In training we've been continuing with getting him forwards, soft and working into the bridle. His canter needs a lot of work but everything is coming along nicely. We do leg yield and shoulder in quite happily in walk and trot, we've also had a few steps of travers! (Evasions are just another of training opportunity! :p).

We've been doing some jumping over poles. It's quite amusing as apparently showjumps terrify me  but we're getting there!

Overall, we're having a bucket-load of fun!

Arya hasn't been doing much. Her breeder gave her such a good foundation that I haven't really needed to. Plus she's so trainable that it's all pretty easy. Wolf teeth have come out so she'll be bitted in the Spring and we'll start to do a bit more. She's so big and gangly that although I might lean over her late next year/early 2021, I probably won't get on until that autumn. It could be that she gets left a little longer, but we'll see how it goes!!

He’s had a few problems over the years but last winter had serious breathing problems which went on for months and months and so was off work, and now he hasn’t been right and the vet says lame all round, so shoes off for him. :-(

I'm so sorry to hear that :( are you going to re-evaluate after a period of time? Iirc, he's not that much older than Tris?

He will be 11 this summer, tbh I don’t think he’ll make old bones as the vet thinks the hind pasterns are already sinking. I am lucky that I have my own land and so he can just retire, but I have no facilities, no stables or barns or turnout areas off grass, so struggle with his weight - clipping today and our naked will help a bit. I am desperately sad about him.
