Hi, All of a sudden my horse has taken a dislike to her bridle she knocks it out of my hands and lifts her head so high i cant reach. She had her teeth done about two weeks ago however the dentist is coming back in Feb to rasp them further. She is fine when the bridle is actually on i wonder if she is playing up or there is something wrong?
:):):)

Has she had any other injury recently?
My Sweetie has a bad back and won't accept the bridle. There's a thread on here about horse communicators and one of the things we agreed on was her not accepting the bridle and, therefore, not being ridden if her back was sore. I know that sounds weird to some people but it may be that yours doesn't have a problem with her bridle but does have another issue.
I hope you get things sorted out and can enjoy riding together!

Thats a little strange, just make sure you aren't bashing her in the teeth as u put it on as people tend to get sometimes a little slack and end up hitting their horses in the teeth (im not saying you do just throwing ideas out there), and also just make sure ur bit is the right way around, haha i'm sure it is but i know of a girl recently who's horse kept bucking her off and its because she had taken her bridle apart and put his bit in the wrong way :(

Also you could try using treats to lower her head as u put the bit in u really need to be an octopus in this situation though or u can buy bit wipes and get mint flavoured ones and pub it over the bit :D

Thats just a couple of ideas hope it all gets sorted soon x

Try taking it apart and lowering the headpiece over her ears from above, then popping the bit in and doing it all up. My TB did this earlier this year, I was thinking teeth but in fact he had a nasty ear infection and the action of pulling his ear through the headpiece was just too painful for him.

Get the vet out to give her a once over. A normally willing, happy horse that suddenly says no, is saying no for a reason and it's usually pain. She could have banged her head, have problems with her teeth or poll, it could be her sinuses or her ears, or it could be pain somewhere else that makes her reluctant to work.
